CARE Team

The Conestoga College CARE Team promotes student well-being and success by supporting students through challenging situations. The CARE Team helps to identify students most in need of elevated levels of support and ensures they are helped. We aim to provide students with the appropriate opportunities and interventions to aid them in achieving their academic and personal goals while supporting a safe and welcoming learning environment for all community members.

The CARE Team includes Conestoga employees with experience in student support, wellness and community safety.

Some reasons a student may be referred:

  • A student shares that personal challenges affect their academics, finances, or basic needs (such as housing, food and nutrition).
  • A student expresses concerns about their mental or physical health, grief, or other personal difficulties.
  • A student talks about having thoughts of suicide or mentions a suicide attempt.
  • A student says they experienced a disruption to their studies for physical or mental health reasons.
  • A student displays behaviours or makes statements that raise safety concerns for themselves or others.
