Bridges is a social experience offered to Conestoga students registered with Accessible Learning. These students are paired with a program partner. A program partner is another student who has volunteered and been trained in the Bridges program and on-campus services. The program partner helps ease the transition to campus life and enhances the college experience through mentorship and rewarding personal connections.
Program partners are paired with students with similar interests or hobbies, and both students benefit from social interaction, campus engagement and meaningful connections.
Program volunteers develop leadership, communication and time management skills. It is an opportunity to meet new friends, expand your awareness of the college and gain disability awareness. Program participation is also eligible for
Students eligible to be a Bridges volunteer must currently be enrolled in courses at the college and be in good academic standing. Volunteers make a commitment of one to two hours per week for the program, in addition to two staff meetings per semester.
